About

I have been teaching for many years and have been interested in ways technology can improve the way I teach, and what and how students learn. Several years ago I embarked on a journey fueled my Masters Thesis that explored the impact of technology on reading. The investigation developed for this thesis showed just how motivating technology, and more importantly, sharing ideas and insights was for readers. The students that year could remember every story we read! The journey ended there, however, due to the comparatively primative technology. The advent of blogging has breathed fresh wind into the sails of this endevor and the journey continues.

As well as teaching elementary school, I coordinate the technology used at our school as the Technology Liaison. This position enables me to hold memberships with the Maryland Instructional Computer Coordinator Association (MICCA) and Instructional Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). I am also a member of Teaching Reading and Learning Difficulties (TRLD). I have presented at Maryland Council for Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) and at the Eastern Educational Association (EEA).
